Not long ago I gave a talk at the excellent ACCU conference in Bristol titled “Algorithmic Architecture: Architecture in Evolving Regulatory Environments”. The talk received some very good feedback and quite a few people asked for the slides so here they are in their original format.

Last week we attended the 2016 World Exchange Congress, London, where I gave a talk titled, “The Missing Piece to Understanding Market Liquidity: Making Regulation Easier and More Effective”. Here are the slides.

As part of our internal research we explore the number of execution venues (including organised markets and exchanges) that currently exist, the rate at which they are increasing, and how they are globally distributed. We thought we'd share the basics of that research as it makes for some interesting reading.

People often ask me for a simple overview of what exchanges are. Many people know a bit about trading but are often uncertain of how exchanges really fit into that picture. This guide aims to provide a layman's introduction into how exchanges work, what matters to them and why participants in the markets should care.

We will be attending the 2016 World Exchange Congress on the 22-23 March in London. If you want to learn how we're going to fundamentally change how liquidity is understood in the exchange space then we'll see you there.

C++ is widely used in Finance but often quality is lacking. With the recent standardisation of C++11 and C++14 the language is becoming "sexy" again and training courses are springing up to cater for demand. Sadly many courses are nothing more than feature overviews with no real advice on how to actually write good, idiomatic C++. We decided to do something about that.

Agile by Example had only started in 2011 so this was the second year of the conference where I was invited to give my talk "Thinking Distributed to Improve Agility" (from JAX London the year before)!
